Frederick Douglass, an abolitionist, suffragist, author, editor, and diplomat, firmly believed in the equality of all people. His exceptional oratory skills and charismatic leadership challenged societal norms about the intellectual capabilities of American slaves. Throughout his life, Douglass challenged our nation's leaders to extend the rights of American citizenship to everyone regardless of race or sex.

Although Douglass's birthday is unknown, he chose February 14th to celebrate his date of birth.

Happy Birthday, Mr. Douglass. Your legacy will forever inspire our mission to encourage and empower the teenage boys we serve.
