April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. FSH is a Hawaii Island United Way Agency.

Family Support Hawaii is working hard to ensure every month is child abuse prevention month. Through your support, we can continue to provide quality services at no cost to families in West Hawaii. Contributions, no matter how big or small, make a significant impact in allowing us to continue our mission “to support families and communities in providing love and care for our children.” Please join me in contributing to our spring gift campaign. If you’d like to donate, please donate below:

Infant Mental Health

Here at FSH, we’ve been focusing on infant mental health. When children experience disruptions of critical attachments during infancy and early childhood, they are at risk for lifelong impairments. Reversing these outcomes requires relationship-based interventions, like the ones that are done in our programs. Your donations ensure we can provide the most evidence-based treatments for children and families through ongoing training and assessments.

Partnering with CWS

Increasing collaboration with Child Welfare Services, sometimes known as CPS, is critical in reducing abuse and neglect. All of FSH’s staff are mandated reporters skilled at looking for warning signs of abuse. FSH is proud to have created effective strategies and practices that strengthen cross-system partnerships, which include continuous in-services and training, ongoing communication, and quality improvement practices.
