Hi! My name is Jeremiah. I am 23 months old. I stayed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Kapiolani Hospital for 7 months. My mother, Leilani, stayed on O‘ahu with me, while my father, Kaipo and two brothers, Keala and Kawika, stayed on the Big Island while I got stronger. Since I have been home, Family Support Hawaii’s Early Intervention Services has helped me to develop many skills such as crawling, walking, and talking – just to name a few. We are filled with gratitude for my therapists coming to my home every week. My mother, Leilani became an independent consultant with Usborne Books & More. I learned how to say “owl” by reading the book, “That’s not my owl.” In return, my family would like to help raise about $2000 worth of books from Usborne Books & More. They will match the donations by 50% with their Literacy for a Lifetime grant. We want every keiki who is in Early Intervention Services Program in the North and South Kona districts to receive these books. If you want to send a check, please send it to the address below. By donating and helping to reach this goal, we can ensure that these 110 keiki will receive more books in their home.
